Visiting Plaquemine Parish BP Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill

Jun. 6, 2010 6:29 pm

Interesting visit to Plaquemines Parish in Louisiana yesterday. Posting pictures of images and will post thoughts. Not allowed to visit certain points. Drove all the way to tip at Venice.

Currently in New Orleans today. Visited Acme Oyster Bar today and had the very best fresh oysters on the half shell all while camera crews roamed the restaurant to learn what was on people's minds about the oil spill and fresh seafood from the Gulf.

On way to Oyster Festival 2010 to benefit Louisiana Coastal Restoration. Will post photos after.

New Orleans Inaugural Oyster Festival was terrific. All the major restaurants in town were there serving up fresh seafood and lots of great music.

Traveled to Jefferson Parish down to Grand Isle on Monday. There were many places that the public was not welcome, meaning police blockades and US Military. Walked on beach of Grand Isle lined with booms and absent summer visitors. The community was virtually deserted and the rental properties housed US military humvees.

It is very beautiful country down there with all the wetlands, and shorelines, all must be done to clean up this mess.

Will post pictures soon.

Posting video here of divers in oil spill. This is different than Cousteau's.

BestThinking.com to Shut Down Permanently on December 31, 2017

If you want to save a copy of your content, you must do so before the website shuts down on December 31, 2017. We will NOT be able to provide any assistance after the website shuts down. We are available at support@thinkermedia.com only until the shutdown to provide more information and assistance.

It was a noble 10-year experiment, but it turns out that the writers with the best content are the least adept at the tech required to publish under our model, which in hindsight, makes perfect sense. If you are dedicating your life to becoming an expert in your specialty, you don’t have a lot of time left for figuring out publishing tech.

It hasn't helped that we have entered an age of unprecedented polarization and antagonism which doesn't foster demand for a website dedicated to the respectful engagement of diverse views.

Thank you, everyone!
