The other day, we witnessed a short tête-à-tête between a Marine (Let us call him "Kurt" - he resembles Kurt Russell, except he is 6' 6" and roughly 25 years Russell's junior; Kurt's no longer in the Marines, but of course - as with all Devil-Dogs - the Marines are still in him...), and one of his co-worker's (we call him: "Joe," like this writer, Joe is former Navy); we paraphrase the portion of...  Read More

When we posted the blog-post “Regarding Political Correctness” we posted an unpublished response to a letter-to-the-editor, and the letter which inspired this blogster’s missive sufficiently intimated the meaning of the term that we left the term “political-correctness” undefined; subsequent to publishing the aforementioned blog-post we realized the term was left undefined. Now providing the...  Read More

A Look at Dogmas which often seem to make Mass Murder quite Easy We have spent a number of words and essays commenting upon dogmas, in response to the narrowed pejorative use of the term by Professor Allen Shoaf and Bob Butler. Our responses heretofore have been to demonstrate that the term “dogma” and that the nature of thinking beings (rational beings – in essence, if not in fact i.e., in...  Read More

As we begin to consider the claim that: “the scientific-method is a collection of interrelated dogmas” we note that the “dogma of sufficient-reason 1 ” compels this writer to think it apropos to define the term “dogma/s” and to likewise delineate some form 2 of the scientific-method. To that end, we take the original meaning of “dogma/s” as our starting point; dogma - from a philological...  Read More

Firstly, why would the same-sex community seek after MARRIAGE (or seek after an amendment to Australia’s Marriage Act 2004 in particular) when same-sex union already has its equivalence which the community calls COMMITMENT? Of course, there is no course (of action) without a cause, which I attempt to examine in this conversation. Secondly, why would a same-sex union seek EQUALITY with a...  Read More

Our discussions regarding dogmas are actually precipitated by the manner in which dogmas have been recently characterized as purely a pejorative by writer’s professor Allen Shoaf and Bob Butler (Founder and Administrator @ at The characterizations in question not only claim that dogmas precipitate violence, but actually claim dogmas actually murder people. To begin the discussion of dogmas, we ought to provide its original definition/meaning, viz: "a philosophical tenet." Now we can then go on to define "philosophical" as: "a term whose meaning is related to "philosophy"" which would require then us to define "philosophy" as "the love of wisdom" which would lead to a definition of "wisdom" as "a discernment of limits" and also define the term:...  Read More

It’s not often in this foul year of our Lord, two-thousand seventeen, that any verbose armchair scribe lacks for subject matter worthy of dissecting. Yet with my ongoing pursuit of an economics degree from Penn State and attempting to not lapse or permit a collapse in governing ModState , I’ve struggled mightily with the balance of mutually-agreeable means. This has been to further numerous ends...  Read More

My nephew (Ian) had asked for clarification on a point made in the blog-post written on a topic related to the Iceman (Richard Kuklinski), but the response did not address his question, but a related matter, and thus another response was generated to address the question asked; this is that response (removed are any personal comments). His question: " Anyways, am I correct in assuming that it...  Read More

My nephew (Ian) asked me a number of questions (via e-mail) regarding both the blog-posts: "Iceman - Richard Kuklinski - and the inimicality of the social-sciences" and "Morality and Disputations." I initially misunderstood his question, as he made the point to me that he took me as a "virtue-ethicist," as he mentioned a number of innocuous actions asking about those as well. Thinking he wanted...  Read More

At work a couple of colleagues were talking about the Iceman, Richard Kuklinski; this writer had never heard of the murderer – for hire… What prompted their discussion was a report that found a new victim of John Wayne Gacy… As these gentlemen spoke we asked a number of questions, and the individuals related that they had listened to interviews of Kuklinski by a number of members of the...  Read More

Ronald Reagan claimed: "I didn't leave the Democratic Party, it left me!" Of course Reagan was making a claim like that of William F. Buckley's description of a conservative, viz: "One that stands athwart History and yells, Stop!" Buckley was in part showing his wit, or humor, but in part he was in earnest, for although conservatives are advocates of the advance of many things e.g., technological...  Read More

The doctrine-of-Justification - i.e., the dispute as to whether Salvation is garnered by faith alone, or, does Salvation come from faith and works? - has been a point of controversy, and division amongst the Christian religions, since Martin Luther 1 left the Catholic Church (Luther was a Roman Catholic priest). It is often argued that Luther left the Catholic Church - because he could no...  Read More

To those whom argue from the social-political Left, we acknowledge: It may be that there was - and is - a cover-up going on within the Trump campaign... If so Robert Mueller will uncover that information, and if it touches Trump that will likely end him and his Presidency; Republicans will be so much happier with Pence. Some Republicans would like to accelerate Trump's removal - if they could -...  Read More

Human relations are - at-bottom - moral relations; each (human) individual involved in any relation whatsoever is a moral being and therefore worthy of deference from other moral agents and obligated to give deference to others. In most instances, all parties involved in relations have only an intuitive grasp of what morality is, and how moral principles ought to circumscribe all relationships...  Read More

Many an individual will cite the Declaration of Independence while thinking they are citing the U. S. Constitution e.g., regarding "inalienable Rights." The Constitution of the United States doesn't mention "inalienable Rights," although one may easily make a logically consistent argument that the Constitution presupposes the Declaration as a delimiting guide for understanding the Founder's...  Read More

Allen Shoaf seems to have an interest in "fake" news and argues through a surrogate (Timothy Egan) that the USA is a "fake Democracy." All humans are susceptible to pursuing selfish ends; moral-virtue – historically and formerly – has been something cultures promoted; for self-preservation, preservation of the culture and so as to mitigate the moral turmoil/chaos manifest from the self-seeker. Back in 1993 Pope John Paul II (this Pope of course was beatified and is now referred to as Pope Saint John Paul II), referred to Western Culture (Christendom) as the-culture-of-death a World Youth Day in Colorado. Like the shape of the letter lambda, one should write 5 As in 82b50L about English and 5 As in non-82b50L about both English and Philosophy for inclusion of a philosophy work as an English work. Non-82b50L breasonings need a store of 82b50L breasonings in famousness, and should be relevant to the topic like 82b50L breasonings. So much has been made of a scandal that isn't by any evidentiary trail a scandal, viz: collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians.
