I have degrees in journalism and education. I have written book reviews and features for Baton Rouge newspaper, managed publications, directed statewide law ed. program for K-12, and written education materials (puppet shows, etc) for state Botanical Garden. I am married to an Entomology professor.

Debra Durham is an ethologist, primatologist and anthropologist with a keen interest in ethics. Her work involves animal welfare assessment and care as well as national and international policy. Since completing her PhD at UC Davis, her work has focused on study sites in the US, EU and Africa.

Studied a HND in Horticulture, worked on commercial nurseries, botanic gardens and garden centres. Now have worked at Syngenta and legacy companies for 10 years and now responsible for the Plant Production team and Glasshouses.

It was a noble 10-year experiment, but it turns out that the writers with the best content are the least adept at the tech required to publish under our model, which in hindsight, makes perfect sense. If you are dedicating your life to becoming an expert in your specialty, you don’t have a lot of time left for figuring out publishing tech.

It hasn't helped that we have entered an age of unprecedented polarization and antagonism which doesn't foster demand for a website dedicated to the respectful engagement of diverse views.
