Here we go again. Another dooms day prediction is about to fail. Jesus Christ’s Second Advent can come at any time but He said that it will be when we least expect it, like a thief in the night. Even so, Harold Camping has pegged May 21st, 2011, as the precise day of Christ’s return. He ignores the fact that Jesus said that no man knows when He will return. Paul warned about such men in I...  Read More

When I get home, the lone male tabby runs to greet me. For some reason no one else can approach him. Not my wife, my daughter, my other children, nor any other person. For reasons unknown to me, I am the only one that he trusts. He hops up into my lap, and puts his big paws on my shoulders and actually nestles his head under my neck. He licks my face and just stares into my eyes. I take his face...  Read More

I remember hearing about children, grown or still living at home, that would scream at their parents "I hate you!" In fact, it happens so often that I thought it was necessary to write about this because I recently heard a child scream at his mother like this. Here is a fact that I hope helps parents. When children are the worst, they are absolutely the most difficult ever, you feel like...  Read More

Shocking as it is, pornography destroys marriages, relationships, martial relations, defiles men and women and profanes what is designed to be sacred. If you think this problem is in the world alone, think again. It is systemic in the churches. Even more saddening, saddening to me since I am a pastor is the percentage of pastors that are addicted to this. I have held pastoral counseling with men...  Read More

John 3:16 is a beautiful verse that speaks of the immeasurable gift that the Father gave of His Son for our forgiveness of sins. Even so, John 3:17 completes this thought; Jesus came not to condemn the world, but to save the world. One of the greatest things about redemption is that we are forgiven by God. He removes our sins as far as the east is from the west. The point is east and west never...  Read More

I believe that the first step to beginning a prison ministry is to do these three things: Pray, then pray, and finally pray some more. Bathe the idea in prayer before you do anything. Prayer is quintessential to any ministry that a person or church does. Talking with former prisoners is also a great resource. Speak with the local sheriff to see if such a ministry is already in place. Make an...  Read More

I am presently the pastor at Mulvane Brethren Church and below is a press release that I received about Fred Phelps’ Westboro Church of Topeka coming to picket our local church. They plan to picket our church on Sunday, December 19th at the beginning of our services. Why? Because Mulvane, Kansas is the home of the Patriot Guard, which consists of dozens and dozens of American veterans who ride on...  Read More

I have been writing letters to Death Row inmates for a while now. One man I was writing said that a revival occurred in Louisiana’s most notorious prison, Angola State Prison. I am also writing to a state penitentiary here in my home state of Kansas too. But in this state prison in Louisiana, what was once called Death Row is now being called Life Row. It is the eternal life and redemptive...  Read More

Rarely do I get angry, but even Jesus got angry once when He overturned the moneychangers table in the Temple. There are still modern day moneychangers, and they use God to rake in multiple millions of dollars. “Call in today and you will receive a ten times miracle your offering…today, if you sow a thousand dollar seed, you can expect a financial miracle. If you don’t sow this seed, then you...  Read More

Let no one fool you. Special Needs children are not handicapped at learning. They may appear to be deficient in learning in traditional ways, but they most certainly are not incapable of learning. In fact, in my many years as a Special Needs teacher and working as a Mental Health Case Manager, I found that these children are not only gifted in ways beyond our comprehension, they are actually...  Read More

There’s Power in the Blood, an old Gospel hymn has an obvious meaning that there’s power in the blood of Jesus Christ to forgive sins. But there’s power in your blood too. There are personal benefits for the donor who donates blood, like it lowers blood pressure, raises good cholesterol levels (HDL) while lowering the bad (LDL), reduces dangerous platelets or clots, purifies the blood,...  Read More

What are some of the reasons that you might like to sign up to donate your organs after your decease? Plenty! It is free to sign up for. You could save someone’s life. You could be a hero, saving someone’s mom, or dad, or brother. Someone’s donated organ could save your own life. You have no use for your organs after death (the Egyptians threw away the brain, thinking it was...  Read More

I know that the Bible says homosexuality is a sin and that those who do so will not inherit the Kingdom of God, but it also says that the only unforgivable sin is not accepting Jesus. If a gay or lesbian person accepts Jesus, but is not able to change his or her lifestyle, can they go to heaven? What about alcoholics, drug abusers, child molesters, etc.? There is only one sin that is mentioned...  Read More

When I saw an old acquaintance of mine from High School days, I waved but inwardly stewed. I just could not forgive that man…for changing my life, destroying my car and my insurance rating…many, many years ago. I customarily put my car keys above my car visor as we lived in a very small town. But one night my friend, who had greatly indulged in the spirits, took my car without my permission and...  Read More

If Christians are to be always ready to give an answer for the reason of the hope that is within us (I Pet. 3:15) and not have any fear or be troubled about reasons for unbelievers questions about the existence of God, the Creator (v 14) , then the DVD, The God Delusion Debate (www.fixed-point.org, 2007 copyright) is one worth watching. If atheists want poignant responses to Christians...  Read More

Every human alive has a desire of their heart. They aspire to be, they hope to become, they strive to do; something that is in their heart. An intense desire burns in every human heart to be something that they are not now at present. Some few have already found their desires fulfilled. I have found this desire in myself. But how does a person receive the desires of their heart? God clearly...  Read More

If you think there is religious persecution in some parts of the world, there is one place in particular that is perhaps the most dangerous place of all. It is in the nation of Iran. There are several Christians now in Iranian prisons who have little or no hope of getting out any time soon. More than a dozen Christians currently imprisoned have not even been allowed to make phone calls to family...  Read More

A little known fact is that fifty-four of the fifty-six signatories of the Declaration of Independence were believers. These men understood the powerful influence that the Savoir God had on each and every individual who had signed this and pledged allegiance to it. Their signatures could have possibly sealed their deaths and they were all fully aware of it. In their framework of the...  Read More

Another purported missing link has been exposed as a fraud in March of this year. Ignoring two decades of research contrary to the evidence, a book was quickly published called Darwinius. What was the reason for all of the battles on Capital Hill between Democrats and Republicans over National Healthcare Reform? The Democrats effectively halted the Republicans version and their 60-vote margin made it “filibuster-proof” made it virtually impossible for the Republicans to pass their own version. President Obama declared that he wanted to force the Health Care Reform Bill through...  Read More

This old photograph of me, “da da” is with my only girl. I have all boys (grown now) and all grandsons. I grew up without a father, never having seen him, heard his voice, saw a picture of him, never received a birthday card. As a father and now, grandfather, I see the importance of breaking this fatherless cycle. Some of my 3/4th grade Sunday school children don’t have daddies. They say, “I wish...  Read More

If you have never seen the movie, the 2000 release of Pay It Forward, you have missed a great family movie from Warner Brothers Pictures. It’s rated PG-13 and is relatively mature thematic, but not overtly suggestive. Trevor, the young 12-year-old optimist always believed in the goodness of humanity. Most children this age are interested in making the world a better place. It’s like do a good...  Read More

There are more reasons for donating blood than just getting a good feeling. Not only does it help cancer patients with blood transfusions for their battle with leukemia, it also saves lives, and nationwide, donations are down by about 68%. Not just because of cold weather either. But here are more reasons, it lowers the risk of many common health problems and chronic conditions. Compared to...  Read More

While sharing Jesus Christ during our weekly visitations, and inviting them to come to our church this Sunday, I heard over and over again this same thing: Who needs church!? They are already Christian and therefore don’t really need to attend church. They are already saved and no one needs a church to be saved. Only about 28% of self-proclaimed Christians attend church on a regular basis. Many...  Read More

Are humans just an accident by chance. Did life emerge from a pre-biotic soup? Or was there purpose and design behind human life? Richard Dawkins actually admits in his book, Climbing Mount Improbable that “The original replicator probably was not DNA. We don’t know what it was”. So Dawkins theorizes that it was DNA. The problem with this is that DNA is not self-replicating and it is,...  Read More

I normally do not publish except every 3 to 4 days, but this was an important issue so I published it originally on Jobshopesolution.com. The big news headline was that Craig Venter created a new life form from a test tube. It is a single-celled organism and Dr. Venter claims that the implications are enormous. It has been called a landmark achievement. Humans have never successfully created...  Read More

The Gospel According to Oprah - No Need for Jesus in Finding God If you thought the Gospel was a message of salvation through faith alone in Christ alone, listen to what Oprah's new age philosophy teaches. She believes that the path to being accepted by God and to eternal life and salvation comes from good works; being a good person, being virtuous and being generous. These are how you find...  Read More
