This poem tells of the unfortunate destruction of The Dunes of Aberdeen, part of an important dune system in the coastal wilderness of Scotland, to create Donald Trump's controversial Aberdeenshire golf course, opened in 2012, which he called "the greatest golf course in the world."
One of my best childhood memories was going with my cousis, aunts and uncles to Mills River, North Carolina, to spend the day-- eating breakfast from a mountain grill, sharing a picnic lunch, wading in the icy shallows and playing until exhausted.
The long-term care/hospice relationship between a beloved parent and an adult child has many facets, one of which is never knowing on any given visit what to expect from minute to minute. One minute may bring joy; another frustration, fear or pain.
